One year later, Change is in the Air
Next month it will be one year since we have owned this property. I made a deal with the land spirits that I would not disturb or intrude on their domain for the first year.
That is coming to an end and plans are in the making to make this land our own while still respecting the spirits of the land who have resided here all along.
This Spring, we will start tapping our maple trees for maple syrup; purchasing meat and laying chickens; and are making plans on starting a beehive. That is in addition to our garden, herbs, pumpkins, and clearing the land.
Wow, that is still a lot to do and we haven’t gotten to the other animals yet. I would like some goats and sheep. And everything else will be up to my husband and sons.
Our garden didn’t do well last year so we are planning on raised beds this year. Which means more planning and building.
Right now, we are picking out supplies to purchase for our endeavors. The early bird gets the worm they say. So, right now is the time to plan and purchase to be ready for the spring.
I can’t wait!! Last week, my mind has turned its attention to spring and all the possibilities. I am happy and excited for the first time in a long time.
